So of the 50+ draft prospects listed on the infamous 2008 Draft Prospects page, four are now actually Eagles. FOUR! That’s a hit rate of what, 8% or so? Actually, considering the limited number of guys the Eagles actually drafted and acquired as free agents, four really ain’t a bad number.
The hits:
1. Mike McGlynn - Pittsburgh - OT/OG
Tackle likely moved inside in the NFL. 3rd round grade.
2. DeSean Jackson - California - WR
Most athletically dynamic guy in the draft. Tiny at 168lbs, Elite kick returner. Could step in and help on day one on the return teams.
3. Franklin Dunbar - Tennessee State - OT/OG
Marginal athlete. Massive (6′5″ 328). Undrafted grade. Scheduled to visit.
4. Shaheer McBride - Delaware State - WR
From Chester, PA. Jack of all trades WR that good at everything, yet great at nothing. 7th round grade. Private workout.
I have a feeling the hit rate is going to drop to 4% at the announcement of the 53-man roster come August.
